How To Change the Brightness on Your MacBook Pro KeyBoard

A few days ago I realized that my MacBook Pro backlight was no longer functioning. I always liked that feature. I was pretty bummed about it thinking that I would have to call Apple Care to see how the issue could be resolved.
I even thought about taking it into the Apple Genius bar goggling didn’t help since I read a few accounts of people having backlight issues, but then it occurred to me that in my case it was probably something simple.
I googled and I easily fixed my issue after doing this I remembered that I had hit F8 a few months ago to keep the backlight off. Duh! I’m glad I’ll be on vacation tomorrow my brain and body need it!
How to change your keyboards brightness
- F9 lowers the keyboards backlight
- F10 increases the backlight
- F8 turns it off
The MacBook Pro’s keyboard background light only comes on when its light sensor detects a dark room; however, if you want to manually control this feature manually you can download this handy application.

Harmonia,
Thanks! I usually fix them and think nothing of it, but I realized if I’m facing these issues other people might be also. I should publish it so others can benefit.
