WWDC 08: The Countdown begins

I have to admit I’m getting excited about the upcoming WWDC. I’ve been following the blogs, news sources very closely, checking out the “leaked iPhone photos” that are starting to crop up about the rumored device. This Monday I’ll be covering part of the event for one of the websites that I write for via live streaming. The editor has secured spots for us because it will fill very quickly.

I’m hoping that the iPhone 2 is finally made available to other carriers. I travel to a part of South Carolina where AT&T coverage really sucks. I use Verizon, if it weren’t for that I would have bought an iPhone a few months after it was released.

I’m looking forward to an updated MacBook Pro however I’m not planning on seeing a major update later this year. I’m a late switcher so won’t be making the leap to a new MacBook until a few months after it has been released.

I’m dreaming of an Apple II

A few weeks ago I saw that an unboxed Apple II had been won on Ebay. The funny thing is I dreamed about it last night. I have no idea what I was working on, but I was enjoying the experience. I still have my Commodore 64 and have fond memories of writing programs and playing games on that dinosaur. Would I sell it? That’s highly unlikely. I still have the original manual that accompanied it.

Cult of Mac: Flaunting my inner geek

I love technology since I purchased my 17″ MacBook Pro I’ve been devouring everything that is related to Mac technology. I’m enjoying the adventure. Earlier this morning I discovered MacTech Magazine. According to their website, it’s the only Mac technology magazine out there and I imagine they are accurate. I know I haven’t seen any, and I’ve looked. I signed up for a subscription and should be receiving a copy within the next 6 - 8 weeks.

As a Mac user I hear a lot of inaccurate statements made about Mac computers. After I overcame my fear of Mac computers I realized how stupid some of those statements were. If you think about it, we’ve all heard inaccurate statements made about something. Depending on the situation I might correct them; however, there are other times when I don’t even bother I just ignore the insane ramblings.

Yes, those types of people seem to hold tightly to their unsubstantiated views and no matter how much proof you give them they won’t waver. I refuse to waste time my time with those types of people. ;-)

Mac Diva Update

Great news for the Mac Diva. I now write for two technology websites as a Mac writer. Although I wasn’t going to start until this coming week, I started writing at BLORGE.com today. It was a topic I’m very familiar with Macs. I cannot say that I’ve purchased a MacBook Air but I’ve read a lot about the subject. It’s the worlds thinnest computer after all.

Although I’m not as familiar with the MacBook Air, which is what I wrote about, I’ve read quite a lot about the subject and I’ve very familiar with touch pad technology. Which is being used with the MacBook Air? Currently I have only one post at BLORGE.com but check out my writer page. The writers are very nice and really have made me feel welcome.

iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store: The Starbucks Program

Have you ever been in a store and heard a song that you absolutely love but have no idea who is singing it? That has happened to me frequently.

iPod Touch

If you are in a participating Starbucks you know longer have to wonder what the song is. Why? If you have the iPod Touch, a Starbuck button will appear. Tapping on the button will show you the current song playing and you’ll also see information on earlier played songs. If you want to snatch up this newly discovered song, it’s simple as tapping the 0.99 button.

The Starbucks Program started last month, October, and will continue to spread throughout the United States. I wonder how long it will be before other stores pick up on this?
