Apple Has Shrunk The MacBook Pro Adapter

MacBook Pro Magsafe Adapter

MacBook Pro Adapter

Apple has reinvented the MacBookPro adapter. It took about a year but, judging by a few Apple blogs and forums I frequent, there are many MacBook Pro users that are happy. A few were complaining at the size of the old adapter? I’m looking at my adapter presently. It never struck me as particularly big.

I do know that mine occasionally gets hot. When this happens it won’t supply my computer with power which means it’s not getting charged while I’m using it. My MacBook Pro is usually hooked Read the rest of this entry »

Finding My Voice

Llsa Simpson At times, it’s hard to believe this website is a little over one month old.

I started The Mac Diva on June 11th, 2007. You know it seems like I just started the website a few days ago.

I think that’s due to the fact that I haven’t been able to focus on this website as I would like but that has changed.

I wanted a name that identified me as “female” in the title. The majority of the tech blogs I read are written by males. After much consideration I finally decided on The Mac Diva.

My Computer Background

When I was working out of the home I was a Database Analyst, Sr. I worked for a health insurance company. My focus was mainly with databases such as Excel, Access, Visual Basic, and SQL. Read the rest of this entry »

Photoshop Error Message: Could Not Complete Your Request..

“Could not Complete Your Request.”

Uh! Oh! Are you receiving this message in Photoshop?

I faced the same issue a few days ago when I attempted to load Adobe Photoshop Element 4.0 (Mac.)

It wouldn’t load instead I received the message, “Could not Complete Your Request.” What’s a Mac Diva to do?

After much searching I Read the rest of this entry »

Photo Hunters: Creative

Behind The Scenes

Aperture 1.5

Aperture 1.5

My creative for Mac Diva is the software I use for my 17″ MacBook Pro. The camera I use is the Nikon D80. I take hundreds, in some cases, thousands of shots weekly. I use Aperture 1.5 to sort through all the pictures, and add enhancements if I want them, and delete the shots I don’t want to keep.

Photoshop Elements 4

Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 (Mac)

I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 (Mac) if I want to add additional enhancements that I cannot do in Aperture 1.5. I also use it to create completely off the wall creations from my original shots. In this case I kept it tame and just added a watermark (my signature.) :-)

The final result is seen here. Voila! That’s my idea of creativity while I’m working on my 17″ MacBook Pro.

The Sims 2

The Sims 2 for Mac

A few days ago I reinstalled The Sims 2 to my 17″ MacBook Pro.I had removed it because it would stop working. Initially it would get stuck when I tried to load my town. I didn’t have the chance to hunt around and see what caused the issue.

Family life and work was taking up most of my time which left me little to no time to be playing a game anyway.

When I installed it a few days ago I didn’t have any issues. I created another Sims character and currently “Opal” is living in Pleasantville. She’s worth a little over one million dollars. Hey I can dream, right?

I really haven’t had a chance to do too much besides create the character but when I find some free time I’ll check out my Sim. Hopefully she won’t be too lonely since I know I’ll be neglecting her a lot.
